With almost 20 years of experience in the classroom, I have worn many hats in my career but none are more important than that of an educator and advocate. I am an elementary art educator in Virginia with almost 700 students that I inspire each year. I am also a strong advocate for public education within the walls of my school and beyond. I believe that education is a human right and that EVERY child should have access to a public school with highly skilled and certified education employees.
I also believe that educators should be leading from the classroom in hybrid roles that allow them to regulate the profession, advocate for education, and collaborate for high quality instruction. I am a proud teacher who hopes that my blog will touch your heart and help you understand the challenges we face in education.Education is not for the weak. It is hard work, however, there is no other profession that makes such a profound difference in the lives of so many. My hope is that through my blog posts, you will understand the challenges we face in education as well as the joys we celebrate with our students.
